CCSW’s short story writing competition has been designed to provide the opportunity for aspiring fiction short story writers of all genres with unpublished stories between 4,000 and 6,000 words long.

The authors with the top 12 selected stories will be given the opportunity to have their stories published through CCSW Publishing, Creative Culture South West’s publishing house. They will also be encouraged to submit other works.

Exeter New Comedian competition is open to all types of comedy acts, from sketches to character and alternative comedians. Contestants compete in a series of heats, with the winners of each heat and the audience’s overall favourite act heading to the grand finale.

The competition is open to comedians who have been performing regularly on the circuit for no more than five years. Acts are scored on their writing; performance; star quality; originality and innovation.

Filmmakers have created ground-breaking films with smartphones: from mainstream feature films such as Unsane which grossed at $10.7 million worldwide to Turner Prize winning film installations.

CCSW’s annual film competition, Smartshorts, is a celebration of accessibility to filmmaking, innovation, intimacy, and diversity of smartphone filmmakers and the films they make. All films entered into the competition must be fully shot and edited on a smartphone to be eligible.
